Tuesday at the Colosseum

Today marked my fourth day here in Rome, and it was certainly a good one. It was breezy, but sunny at the same time. This was perfect as we did a lot of walking throught the colosseum, the Roman forum, and the Palatine Hill. The tour was very complete, and I learnt a lot. Even though I loved the colosseum, I would have to say that my favorite place is still The Vatican. After that we walked around the Via del Corso, where I stared at every cute window display I saw, and went into the biggest Zara ever!

It takes such simple things to make some people happy. Today, just one object was enough to bring a smile to my face, and make my day better. The object in question, a hat! On our first proper day here, I had seen a girl wearing a burgundy floppy hat. When I saw it, I knew I needed it. I had already been lusting after a floppy hat anyway. The problem was, I was too shy to ask the girl where she’d gotten it. So, my mom went up to the girl and asked her. She said she had found it at a market. I spent the past three days thinking about the hat, and trying to find the market. Today, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the hat at a market stall. I tried it on, and it looked perfect! I bought it, and haven’t stopped smiling yet. So dear readers, enjoy the little things.

XOXO, Sofia
