Stripes at night | Phuket #2

Some days I want to dress more feminine, and child-like, but other days I want to try something different. Something more grown up; a pair of wedges, heels, or in this case a bodycon dress. Though not something I would wear on a daily basis, bodycon dresses are great pieces for going out, attending a party, or just to have in your wardrobe. Bodycon dresses are great at hugging curves and accentuating different areas of your body. That is why if you don’t feel confident about a certain part of your body, such as your mid-section or your behind I would not suggest a bodycon dress, simply because there are so many options out there that will be a lot more flattering on your figure! I would recommend a dress with a more relaxed, flattering silhouette such as a skater or maxi dress. If you still want to wear a bodycon dress, go ahead! Just remember that what matters about the dress is how you wear it! So if you love the way they look but are afraid they’ll be unflattering just try it. You might even surprise yourself!

Stripes, oh stripes! Probably my second favorite pattern after plaid! Stripes are so versatile, you can wear them on everything whether it be a dress, pants, sweater, shirt, skirt or jumpsuit! They even come in different variations, vertical and horizontal, black and white, navy and blue, etc. Something about stripes that I’ve read about, seen, and experienced is the difference between vertical and horizontal stripes. Vertical stripes are more slimming, and elongating whilst horizontal stripes are the polar opposite. Horizontal stripes make things appear larger and are, therefore, less flattering but like with anything there’s a way to style around them! When wearing a horizontally striped item wearing another piece in the look that is more figure-flattering to balance it out. And find a stripe pattern that works for you! There are so many to choose from you are bound to find at least one you’ll love!

Dress – Forever 21 (most similar)

Sandals – Minelli (very similar options here and here)

I’m looking forward to a long weekend here in France and am definitely hoping for some time to relax and catch-up on a lot of work! I’ll be trying to get the rest of my Phuket looks as soon as possible so I can share with you some of the looks I wore in Vienna. Till’ next time!

XOXO, Sofia
