Hanging on to the last threads of summer

Summer is slowly fading and fall is promptly approaching. Trees have begun to lose their leaves and the skies become more clouded. I’m finding myself gravitating more towards the chunky knits stored in the back of my closet, and my sturdy boots, untouched since last winter. I’ve been getting prepared for thick coats, and many, many layers when winter approaches. Until then I’ll be wearing whatever best suits the day, and that might be a sweater (which I doubt), or something much warmer.

This is my new ‘go-to’ look for running around town or hitting up the shops. It’s something laid-back and comfortable yet still fashion-forward, like this city. To dress this look up, I would wear my heeled Zara sandals, the ones you guys are probably sick of seeing because I wore them all summer, or some booties to make this outfit more winter appropriate. I’m saying goodbye to my favorite pair of ripped jeans until the sun comes out again. It’s officially too cold to wear my favorite pair of jeans anymore, so on the day I took these photos I shivered and I froze, but I  still managed to hold on to a piece of summer. To juxtapose with the relaxed, easy fit of the jeans I wore a slightly more fitting top. This sweater is yet another of my treasured Zara finds because it’s that perfect in between seasons piece. Great for cool summer nights, and warm fall days. My mini M.A.C coordinated with the navy blue stripes and added a ‘city feel’ while my mouse flats gave off a cute, girly vibe.
