In the spirit of giving thanks, today I wanted to do something different. I wanted to remind myself of the things that I am most grateful for, which is an exercise that I would practice during more difficult days. It always helps put things into perspective and is something that I think everyone should do once in a while. So, these are the things that I am grateful for:

One, my faith, which has carried me through some of the most difficult times of my life. It’s something that gives me hope and reassurance, which can never be too abundant in the world in which we live. My faith is special because it’s something that I’ve nurtured even before I oriented myself towards a particular religion. 

Two: my parents, my rocks, one of the reasons I have the strength to get through every day. They are unconditionally loyal and always know when I need to be picked up, even before I myself know. The bond I have with them is truly unique, which makes me all the more grateful for having them in my life.

My three best friends, who aren’t all close to me geographically, but are all near my heart. They are witty, loyal and some of the most beautiful human beings I know. With them, I have been able to get through some of the toughest moments imaginable, which I am thankful for. 

Four, the seasons which are bountiful and bring with them change. The earth is a source of beauty and natural renewal, which makes it of value. The only thing I’m not thankful for is the way we treat the earth, but that’s a whole other topic. 

Five: perseverance, will, pride, fire and grit. They are the products of difficult times but also what carry me through the harshest moments. 

Six, all the best moments of the past little bit. Even the most insignificant things, like buying new filters. Or the slightly bigger things, like receiving good feedback on a project that I have put immense amounts of effort into. All of these things make the day just that bit brighter.

Seven: every passing day, which is an opportunity to renew oneself. Every day can be something to be grateful for, if you believe enough. 





Again, thanks to much to those of you who follow me, either here or on instagram. Like I said last time, I feel like this is  a journey that I get to share with all of you. Some days the journey is smoother, more pleasurable, but other days, the seas are a little rougher and the wind more harsh. Whether you’re having a bad day, week, month, or even year, remember the things that you are grateful for because they are the ones that make the journey worth making…
