Drifting away | Bangkok #1

Amongst the extensive verdure surrounding Damnoen Saduak canal, a canoe drifts away. The passengers aboard, a family of four, marvel at their surroundings. Along the canal banks, hundreds of stands are selling fruits, foods, clothes, and souvenirs. A variety of scents linger in the air; the sweet smell of fresh mangoes, and the odor of various traditional dishes such as sticky rice, Thai chicken, and fried noodles is overpowering. Elephant prints pervade various items in these stands. My personal favorite? A pair of Harlem, elephant-printed pants in black and white. In this instant, they lie in front of me. They are not only a souvenir of a wonderful place, but of a spectacular country.

Summer dressing is my favorite, the free spiritedness, the comfort, I just love everything about it! On this sweltering Thai summer’s day, I wore an outfit that perfectly represented my warm-weather style. These loose, breezy shorts were perfect for the heat of the day, and added a relaxed element to the look. They also supplemented some color to the look while still keeping with the neutral color palette. I paired the shorts with a white, halter-neck crop top that added some structure to the look. The cut is what really makes the top different to your average white shirt. It brings some structure to the look, and also gives the illusion of a more slimming silhouette. In the image below, you can see some of the details of the look, such as this coin bracelet and chain bag.

Top – Subdued

Bag – Michael Kors (same with logo)

Sandals – ASOS (similar here), Sunglasses – Aldo

Though only two days into the trip, I am confident in saying that Thailand is one of my favorite countries I’ve ever visited. Second only to Egypt, which is a country so rich with history and tradition it is unparalleled to any other. I will be sharing many more photos of my trip with you all here and on my Instagram, where I have already posted a few images. If any of you want to see a photo diary or a travel guide, please tell me in the comments down below, or via Instagram. Get ready to see many more looks, and photos of the trip!

XOXO, Sofia
