Bruges guide | ft. Zaful

Bruges is filled with beautiful architecture, and baroque-style buildings, which make amazing backdrops for a holiday shot! The most beautiful places in Bruges are definitely the Market Square (Markt, 8000 Brugge), Town Hall (Burg 12, 8000 Brugge), Holy Blood basilica (Burg 13, 8000 Brugge), and the Dijver Canal (Djiver, 8000).

These are all places that I visited on a day trip, and would highly recommend! Even though it’s absolutely beautiful, Bruges is on the smaller side, so I would not recommend it for anything other than a weekend getaway, or day trip. If you’re looking for a city to be your ‘home base’ whilst you visit Belgium, I would definitely suggest considering Brussels or the city of Ghent before looking into Bruges. They are both much livelier cities, that are filled with restaurants, museums, and shops.

Three words: Café au Lait. This beautiful, quaint café is a must when in Bruges! They have the best hot chocolate and gauffre de Bruxelles in Bruges, if not in all of Belgium! I had the loveliest time there, and I can see how it has become such a tourist-favorite within the city. If you’re in the mood for something salty, the best thing to eat is a Belgian classic: frites!

Bruges is beautiful, but it is definitely not a shopping city! If you’re looking to shop till you drop, don’t expect to leave all your spending money in Bruges. What I would recommend from Bruges would be souvenirs, chocolate (anywhere in Belgium is great!), or lace items. For serious shoppers, I would suggest a trip to Antwerpen. It is definitely the city to be in when it comes to fashion! With a museum dedicated to fashion, and the best shopping street in Belgium, it’s one of my favorites!

I hope you’re all having an amazing week! I’m off to London tomorrow for a girl’s trip with my mom. London is one of my favorite cities of all time, and I haven’t been there in 2 or 3 years, so I have been dying to go back for a while! I have a list of places, but if you lovelies have any recommendations I will make sure to take you up on them! Hopefully, I’ll be sharing a (short) London guide, and one/two outfits from the weekend, which I hope you’ll enjoy. In the meantime stay tuned via Instagram. Kisses….

XOXO, Sofia
